This is a new and exciting role within Citizens Advice Bolton – the post holder will be required to work flexibly, within the changing and dynamic context of Brexit.
This role will sit alongside the Welfare Benefits team and will work closely with our immigration unit and other aspects of our Social Welfare Law team. Clients will be engaged via a range of advice channels and activity centres.
Ensuring that vulnerable or at-risk EU citizens and their families are supported to obtain status in the UK is a critical objective of this role. This role aims to ensure that those who require the most support to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) can access it and have advice about any other options available to them.
The immigration status granted under the EUSS is either indefinite leave to remain (ILR) (also referred to for the purposes of the scheme as ‘settled status’) or 5 years’ limited leave to remain (LTR) (also referred to as ‘pre-settled status’) granted under Appendix EU to the Immigration Rules.
